OS X Mavericks Is the New Wave, Goodbye Big Cats

Honoring OS X updates with cat gifs.
Via Imageshack

Apple announced its next operating system, OS X Mavericks, a couple months back, and we're getting closer to the public release date. But a post on Slashdot today reminded me that this will be the first time since 1999's 'Kodiak,' (Apple's public beta release of OS X), that the OS  won't be named after a big cat. An era is gone.

And I'm not hysterical or anything, but the crazy cat lovers will likely find an excuse to make some noise. So, I thought I'd beat them to it with a GIF party.

I imagined the acid flashback Steve Jobs must've had when coming up with the concept, but in putting these GIFs together I also imagined what I have many times before whenever the dialog was, "Do you have Tiger, or Leopard?" "I have Snow Leopard," etc.

Enjoy!
