When I’m hurting my brain with articles about fibre-optic teleportation (which is actually happening in the Canary Islands), I often resign to the miserable conclusion that I’ll never quite get it unless I decide to read another 100 articles of background — not my area of expertise. Or, I could watch Flubber.

Hollywood is always the best remedy for those mind-melting conundrums anyway. And while it’s probably the reason that grownups insist you should be able to roll down airplane windows, it feels nice to give in to the tall tales of tinsel town sometimes. This is why time travel, the most hopeful-to-not-be-a-pseudoscience of all the pseudosciences could never be a bad movie idea. It’ll probably never happen, but in some case that we do discover time travel — and it’s not via Tracey Walter’s original explanation in the seminal 80’s film Repo Man — then let us hope that the answer lies somewhere in the madness of this compilation.
