MIXED BY French Horn Rebellion

Unplug your headphones and let this mix ignite a full-on office dance party.
February 18, 2015, 9:10pm

The best music is the kind that breaks the rules, shatters our perceptions of what's right or wrong, and gives zero fucks. After listening to their MIXED BY, we can confidently attest that Brooklyn-via-Milwaukee duo French Horn Rebellion possess all three traits.

As their name would suggest, brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, play French horns. But where does that whole "Rebellion" thing come into play? In addition to toting the brass, the guys also can throw down a full-on dance party at the drop of a hat, through an array of drum machines, synths, vocals, and enough hardware to shower you with house, disco, and a whole heap of funk. Alongside such horn-slinging artists as Big Gigantic, No Regular Play, and GRiZ, they take everything they learned in formal music training-and completely flip it on its ass.

The guys have gained notoriety by collaborating with artists far and wide across the indie-dance sphere. Acts like The Knocks, Viceroy, Ghost Beach, and St. Lucia to name a few. They were also responsible for brassy, funky remixes for the likes of Beyonce, and Blende. As you'll be able to tell from their MIXED BY, they thrive in pushing a sound that doesn't take itself too seriously, well at the same time, is seriously fun.

So hit play, and maybe even unplugs those headphones-it might just turn your office into an afternoon flash-rave. Just don't hold French Horn Rebellion responsible if you get canned.
