Real Madrid's Gareth Bale Robbed, Redeemed by Ronaldo in Choppy El Classico

The good, the bad, the ugly, and the ugly again.

Were @RealMadrid and @GarethBale11 robbed here? #ElClasico https://t.co/K2AmUwazNg

There have been prettier Classicos in the past. Today's, held at Barcelona's Camp Nou, witnessed a pair of yellows for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos that sent him out, an ugly first half of botched opportunities, multiple shoves in the box, and some good acting by none other than Luis Suarez (don't worry; no bites today). But one of the ugliest moments came from the officiating staff with the game tied at 1-1, when Gareth Bale was robbed of a completely onside goal by the linesman (above). Injustice, I say!

Thankfully (for all you miserable, miserable Real Madrid fans out there) Ronaldo, however, had something else to say something about that:

Usually, these Classicos are much closer, but Real Madrid dominated the night with a show of offense and a smothering defense that snuffed out the likes of Neymar, Messi, and Suarez.

But to rewind a bit: Barcelona squeaked in the first tally on the night with a header by Pique in the 65th minute.

GOAAAAAL! @3gerardpique loses @officialpepe and SLAMS IN A HEADER! @FCbarcelona in the lead. #ElClasico https://t.co/awISUGBIsd

But it was an absolute fall-down scissoring stunner from Real Madrid's Karim Benzema just six minutes later that swung the momentum clearly in the Madrileños' direction.

GOAAAAAL!! GOLAZO! @Benzema just scored THIS and the game is back level. #ElClasico https://t.co/0U78n7z52i

Real Madrid snapped Barça's 39-game unbeaten run tonight, and the rivalry lives on, my friends.
