For those in need of a Richie Hawtin fix, you’ll be pleased to know that the tireless DJ will play not one but two sets at this week’s Dissonanze Festival in Rome, Italy. What makes this particular event so special is that Mr. Hawtin will be playing one set as himself and another as his alter ego, the legendary Plastikman. This kind of exclusive DJ engagement doesn’t happen often. Now in its tenth year, the Dissonanze festival is a three day, weekend event that takes place in some of Rome’s more spectacular buildings (like the Ara Pacis, a sacrificial alter consecrated in 9 BC). Richie will perform both sets on Friday, May 21, at the Palazzo Dei Congressi. If you book your tickets for the whole weekend, you’ll catch both sets in one day not to mention a mind-blowing video project from one of our other Creators, United Visual Artists, on Sunday. Seems like a perfectly good reason to kick off the summer season a little early.
