Sam Frenzel F/W 2010 [Video]

Trends from Berlin.

Upcoming creator and native Berliner, Sam Frenzel’s, career launched after winning the 2009 “Designers for Tomorrow by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf” award for up-and-coming talent. His "Collection Bravade Autumn/Winter 2010" (above) was his debut collection for the Berlin-based sector of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The stunning collection featured chunky and voluptuously-crafted knits, wide-netted pants, re-proportionalized and structured jackets, and a heavily concentrated winter white palate, with splashes of hot pink. Felt hunting caps and embellished military shoulder pads provided a strict juxtaposition to the sheer, cape-like ensembles of the finale. While he’s not incorporating LED lights, augmented reality, or laser cut paper into his designs (yet), we still think this innovator has got an eye for proportion and fabric sculpture.
