Brazilian Butt Surgeon Killed in Suspected Revenge Attack

An unlicensed butt surgeon from Brazil was murdered in what is suspected to be a revenge attack, BBC reports. The body of Marcilene Soares Gama, 49, was found in a vacant lot in Rio de Janeiro. Gama, who was not a doctor, reportedly had been using industrial silicone on her clients, leading them to experience injuries and health problems.

A man was reportedly caught on surveillance going into Gama's home on July 15, and her body was found at 11 AM on a nearby road the same date. Her hands had been tied behind her back; she was shot in the face at close range. Police said the manner in which she died is typical of revenge killings, according to O Globo.

Gama was also known as "Lenny Gama" or "Lene Soares." She had previously been arrested for pretending to be a doctor in Rio and São Paulo and was facing charges. Gama reportedly was accused of "destroying" the butts of at least ten women and injuring dozens with her procedures.

Butt enhancement is popular in Brazil. There's a private Facebook group that appears to be for victims of Gama's procedures with over 1,000 members called "Vítimas de Bioplastia Lenny Gama (Marcilene Soares Gama)," meaning "victims of Lenny Gama bioplasty." Bioplasty is a cosmetic procedure that can be used for buttocks enhancement, such as a Brazilian butt lift.

"I believe she was killed by a vengeful person," her brother-in-law Daniel Mofacto told O Dia. He also told the newspaper that she had talked about being threatened.

"The people who came to her knew about the risks, and the procedures she did were explained to her patients before."
