NEW YORK - MENTAL JAMS

Over the weekend I somehow got that Berlin song from Top Gun stuck in my head. You know the one, "Take My Breath Away." Pretty obnoxious, but what was weird was that it was the whole song that was stuck. Like my brain would play it completely from start to finish, fade out on the last chorus, then kick back in with the intro. Usually when something gets stuck it's just a snippet from the chorus or one of the verses. And even usuallier it's the chorus from "Get It On (Bang a Gong)." That fucker's been on a mental loop for years.

The same deal holds true for the rest of the editorial staff. Instead of T.Rex though, our managing editor is afflicted with the "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me," line in that Pussycat Dolls song and for going on a decade now, the editor in chief has been grappling with the part of that Smashmouth song that goes "Hey now, you're an all star, get your game on, etc." Anyways, we're not after your pity here, just wanted you to know that if you ever wanted to know what it sounds like inside the brain of Vice magazine (as a round), it sounds like this.
