Dear Vice,
Young girls in sexy costumes, some called French Maid, Devil Bride and Miss Behaved, are provoking outrage on the Catholic Home & Garden website. They claim that sending kiddies into the streets to ask for candy from strangers while dressed as a "street walker or jail bait" is unashamedly "encouraging pedophilia."While aiming a tarty outfit called Major Flirt at a pre-teen market is inappropriate, it's kind of weird coming from a web-shop that sells costumes of clergymen, whose reputation is far from angelic. I mean, these days, is it weirder to see a young boy dressed up as a Priest or as a Pimp?Catholic Home & Garden say: "There's no doubt that we are now living in a world that has gone mad - but this crosses whatever slender line of decency was left in the world of Halloween costumes."What parents in their right minds would dress their little girl up like this? Frankly, we think any one who does should be reported to CPS. "PETER PAUL
