Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has had its best month yet, bringing in more than $143 million for her party during August. The Democratic nominee raised $62 million for her own campaign, and another $81 million for the Democratic National Committee and state parties. A suicide bomber has attacked a court in the Pakistani city of Mardan, killing at least 12 people and wounding more than 50. Lawyers, police officers, and civilians are believed to be among the dead. According to the president of the Mardan Bar Association, lawyers are frequent targets of attacks by terrorists opposed to democratic institutions. Earlier on Friday, four men trying to suicide-bomb a Christian area were killed during a gunfight with security forces in Peshawar. Turkish authorities have suspended another 8,000 security personnel and more than 2,000 academics, continuing the purge of people the government says may have links to July's failed coup.
