Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman Drops Another Track with Mike Stud

Stroman raps with former Duke baseball teammate Mike Stud on his latest single "Shine."

Marcus Stroman is almost as good with his words as he is with a baseball. Well, not quite.

The Blue Jays right-hander did, however, take to the studio recently to record his second hip-hop track with former Duke baseball teammate and Rhode Island-born rapper, Mike Stud.

Stud, whose actual, less cool name is Mike Seander, dropped his first single "College Humor" in 2009. The track went viral after he recorded it on GarageBand "as a joke" while recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Stud was the closer at Duke when Stroman first arrived on campus in 2009, and the two have been boys ever since. His first track featuring the Blue Jays starter, titled "These Days," dropped in January, and act No. 2 is anything but a let down.

Shine. 7:30PM est. This is my walkout next year! — Marcus Stroman (@MStrooo6)November 21, 2016

This jam, called "Shine," is focused strictly on baseball and pitching under the bright lights. When Stroman gets to his bars, it gets real.

First part, not bad. He eases into it, while mixing up the style and tempo. The second set of bars is where it really heats up, though. Dropping an Urkel and sliding into DMs reference in the same verse? What a world we live in.
