Junior A Hockey Player Scores Filthy Goal You Must See to Believe

Vernon Vipers forward Jagger Williamson of the BCHL showed off some nasty moves and scored one of the goals of the year.

Although it's early September and hockey is just starting back up, we already have an early candidate for goal of the year.

Jagger Williamson, a 17-year-old Junior A forward playing for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League, scored his first goal of the season in highlight-reel fashion Saturday night, and helped his team complete a comeback against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Williamson shows some real skill as he intercepts the pass, fights off the slashes, dekes the defender with a 360 spin-o-rama from his knees, goes between his legs with the puck, recovers it, and caps off the nasty play by going under the goalie's blocker for the goal. It's going to be hard for anyone to top that.

The one-of-a-kind goal left his team in awe, including head coach Mark Ferner, a former NHL defenceman.

I haven't seen a goal like that in a long time or ever.

"I couldn't even believe it when I saw it," Vipers captain Riley Brandt added. "He must have blacked out though and probably didn't know what he was doing. It was a great goal that tied the game up for us."

It might still be early September, but Williamson's goal will have hockey fans hungry for more. Luckily for us, the World Cup of Hockey is right around the corner.
