Yorkshire Boys Will & Held Are Kicking off New Label Vim & Vigour with, Well, Vim & Vigour

An EP's worth of tough, taut techno kicks things off for a brand new label and we've got an exclusive listen to a Tom Demac remix inside.

A new label emerging from the London underground is always a cause for celebration. Each imprint that arrives at Paddington with a string-wrapped batch of 12"s, beaming hopefully, ready to take on the big smoke all on its own is potentially the label that changes your life. Each new addition to the roster at Companies House could be the best thing you discover all year.

Two lads who're hoping to worm their way into your hearts are Yorkshire boys Will Berridge and Richard Mellor, who've wound their way down from the peaks and dales and lakes with a tonne of analogue gear and joy in their hearts. Since arriving in London they've signed to newly founded imprint Vim & Vigour, who've decided to open their innings with an EP from the dup.

As Will & Held the pair make the kind of clanking, dark, stripped back'n'raw tech-house that brings the likes of all your favourite Detroit dons to mind. Their release for the label, the matter of factly titled EP 001, is a set of late night cruisers custom built for sweatboxes and hangover Sundays. The boys have got Welsh wizard Tom Demac on remix duties and we're delighted to be bringing you an exclusive listen to bold as brass rerub of lead track "Mend" — it's a scorcher. Check it out below, along with the trippy EP artwork:

Get ready for it…

EP 001 is released on vinyl on the 19th of October and digitally on 2nd November via Vim & Vigour
