Images viaIn the latest body of work by artist Simone Sbaraglia, vivid bands of color come together to look like abstract sunsets, abstract paintings, or even computer-generated art. These images, however are none of the above, but rather aeriel photos of expansive Dutch tulip fields, whose geometry and color Sbaraglia explored from an airplane in April.Simply titled, Tulip Fields, the series features Sbaraglia using her expertise as a nature photographer to examine the geometrical properties of plantlife, and the artistic prowess of the landscapers who sow the massive tulip fields. The photographs capture the feel of a Mark Rothko painting, crashing distinct colors together to create vivid impressions. If Sbaraglia could find a field that looks like Ben Ridgway's cosmic flowers, that would take things to a whole new floral level.
