To illustrate the far out ideas in his new four-hour NOVA series on space, time, and the universe, physicist Brian Greene relies heavily upon special effects and sci-fi scenarios that are starting, slowly, to look more sci than fi. Hence his appearance at Comic Con, where he shared clips on time travel and teleportation with wizards and cosplayers and young physicists. The show, an adaptation of Greene’s book, will surely invite comparisons to Sagan’s own “Cosmos,” but will it deserve them? Time will tell. Also, it will bend.“The Fabric of the Cosmos” starts this week on NOVA, and can be viewed online at its website. Greene’s World Science Festival is streaming a Q&A with Greene, father of string theory Leonard Suskind and 2011 Nobel laureate Saul Perlmutter on Wednesday night. Put your questions to them here and watch that event below.
