Whiite's "Shades of Cool" Remix Turns Lana Del Rey Into a Comic Book Character

The Frank Miller of dance music just took on Lana.

Whiite's remix of Shades of Cool is almost completely detached from the original tale of a girl who "can't help him, can't make him better…can't do nothing about his strange weather." The comic-book loving producer has put a spin on the melodramatic tune from Lana and the result is something a bit more fun, multi-layered, and with, well, too many shades of cool for us to count.

Why the comic-y graphic, you ask? L.A.-based Chris White isn't just a DJ-Producer, but word has it is actually developing his own original graphic novel series. Far from a random excuse to tap into other talents, the series mirrors each of Whiiite's EPs, telling the story of his life, possible powers, and the forces of evil he fights at night—beyond just that of a possible greedy club promoter that is.
