When Arquitectum called for submissions for a 100-meter high fashion museum in Tokyo, Laurent de Carniere envisioned something completely out of the ordinary. Carniere’s model takes apart the anatomy of a flower and merges the inspiration within the exhibition areas of 20th century fashion history and, of course, includes a skybar/cloudy Japanese garden at the tower’s tallest point. To see the museum’s layout dissected, check out the breakdown in our gallery.Du Beluco and V4MO: Looking OutFor all you out there seeking the meaning of life, this video may deem useful in finding the answer. Looking Out is the collaborative effort of director Du Beluco and V4MO who set out to visually represent an individual’s desire to always be on the look out for something innovative, unknown, or perhaps simply just out of this world. Incorporating elements from costume design, cinematography, and digital media, the duo has managed to depict our most inner thoughts in a trippy, yet impressive work of video art. Take a look behind the scenes here.NastPlas: AtaxiaSome artists look for inspiration within themselves or their experiences. Others, such as NastPlas, find design inspiration in neurological dysfunctions. The Ataxia series is “dedicated to all scientists” and explores the clinical manifestation Ataxia, a severe sensory symptom which causes a lack of coordination in muscle movements. While it’s a study of the nervous system, the piece reflects Constructivist graphic design and demonstrates the artist’s mastery of digital art.
