Kiwi Joseph Parker's journey to heavyweight glory will continue on May 6, when he hosts Brit Hughie Fury in Auckland.

The bout has been talked about for months, following Parker's defeat of Andy Ruiz Jr to gain the WBO heavyweight title last year, with initial rumours suggesting it would be held in Manchester, England.

Yet Duco Events - Parker's legendarily sly (and sometimes slippery) promoters - have made it happen in Aoteaora once again - with Vector Arena the venue. Fair to say, it'll be a sell out too.

Details were confirmed by Duco today, after some wrangling on the fine print around Fury's visa to head way down under. Fury - the cousin of disgraced former heavyweight champ Tyson - allegedly used of the prohibited steroid nandrolone, with his father Peter also in the gun about doping use relating to his nephew.

Both Fury lads have denied usage, and Hughie has agreed to full anti-doping testing ahead of his Parker fight.

It should be a crackling rumble. Parker (25) holds a 22-0 record with 18 knockouts, while the younger Fury (22) is 20-0, with 10 - though hasn't fought since last April.

The purse is thought to be more than US$3 million, with Parker understood to be in line for 60 per cent of it. Victory for the Kiwi against the young Fury should open the door to more significant bouts against the likes of Brit Anthony Joshua or American Deontay Wilder, who recently called him out.
