Following Tricky's "Escape" and Steve Aoki's ill-advised remix of Kenji Kawai's iconic 1995 theme, today Chromatics ringleader Johnny Jewel has shared his contribution to the soundtrack of Hollywood's upcoming Ghost in the Shell remake.

Titled "The Hacker," the producer and multi-instrumentalist's cinematic composition begins with tense and ominous ticking, which frames the lead synth's snarling, comb-filtered oscillations. No stranger to film work, last year the artist scored Belgian director Fien Troch's drama Home.

In other Johnny Jewels and Chromatics news, Echo Park Records recently confirmed the group's involvement in the Twin Peaks reboot, which returns May 21 on Showtime.

Pre-order Music Inspired by the Motion Picture Ghost in the Shell (out March 31 via Kobalt Music Recordings) to receive a download of "The Hacker," and listen to the track below.
