Last night, Jon Stewart bid an emotional goodbye after sixteen years as the face of the comedy news program The Daily Show. Everyone from Hilary Clinton to Bruce Springsteen to Steve Colbert stopped by to offer a fond farewell to the diminutive New Jerseyan, who has become a world-renowned cultural voice over the past decadeHowever, some outpourings of love have not been so touching. YouTube mash-up artist Eclectic Method, known best for his "Wolf of Wall Street Chest Thump Remix" and "Game of Thrones: Hodor in the House" tracks, has released "Goodbye Jon Stewart," a patchwork of Stewart quotes stitched together into lyrics over a poorly produced EDM track. The tune, which ineptly blends elements of dubstep and jungle into a uniquely offensive auditory violation, is so bad that it threatens to undo decades of good work by Stewart and his team.Meant as homage, it reads more like character assassination for both Stewart and the entire genre of "EDM," whatever the fuck you consider the term to mean. The one positive aspect of this whole abominable clusterfuck of a mash-up is that, after hearing it, we kinda hate Jon Stewart and we're not even that sad he's gone.
