Baauer Interviewed by Jim-E-Stack

Toto makes Baauer cry, Leonardo di Caprio rules, and other revelations from the Infinite Daps Tour.

Hey, check out this rad photo of Jim-E-Stack and Baauer camping! Just kidding! Yesterday, these two wild 'n' crazy dudes embarked on a DJ tour driving across the Heartland of the USA along with Wedidit's RL Grime and Ryan Hemsworth. These four are definitely some of the main culprits in bringing hip-hop to the rave over the last two years and their outing is called Infinite Daps—based on the amount of fist-pounding and pumping going on daily.

All these guys are good friends and collaborators since even before they boarded a magical metal phoenix that takes them from college town to college town, so they must be having a wild time already. We'll be bringing you plenty of behind-the-scenes stuff from this tour, including a documentary, exclusive music, and photos from the road. To start things off, we asked yung Jim-E of Body High to interview Harry "Baauer" Rodriguez (of "Harlem Shake" and "Dum Dum" and Mad Decent fame) and here's what we got… not to mention a dreamy photo of them in the American wilderness.

Jim-E Stack: Where did we first meet?
Baauer: We were both interns at Trouble & Bass in New York. I remember you were lying on the floor.

What is your favorite WAV file on your computer?
It's one called "01a1.wav." I don't know where it came from, but I think it's haunted. Listen…

If you were producing a movie, who would write it, who would direct it, and who would be in it?
It would be the same team that did Inception except I'm in it too and it's a buddy-cop movie with me and Leo.

What's the last song that gave you chills when you first listened to it?
I have to say "Africa" by Toto. Sometimes it makes me cry.

If you could take a lesson from anyone on anything who and what would it be?
Wow, great question. I would love singing and overall life improvement lessons from Future & Ciara.

Do you think anyone will read or care about this interview in years?
I think you might invent something or win a prize and people will read this for a long time.
