Listen to the Future Sound Of Melbourne, Direct from 1993

The perfect complement to Rave Days: The Birth Of Melbourne's Rave Scene

Released last week, Rave Days: The Birth Of Melbourne's Rave Scene takes an in-depth look at the music, personalities and wild aesthetics that made up the creatively fertile community that fostered Melbourne's introduction to raves. The scene's influence can still be felt today, both in contemporary events and through communities documenting artefacts from the era. One such community is Melbourne Raves, hosting mixes and performances preserved from the early 90s on their SoundCloud account. To celebrate the release of Rave Days: The Birth Of Melbourne's Rave Scene, Melbourne Raves have kindly provided THUMP with recordings from LIVE FSOM, taken from 1993.

This week Melbourne Raves is proud to present a very special edition of "From the Vaults" for our friends at VICE/THUMP.

Melbourne Raves have unearthed two sequences from a LIVE FSOM (Future Sound of Melbourne) performance circa 1993. This recording showcases Melbourne's first live techno supergroup at their best, performing a unique live mix of signature classics from their Beyond EP which was released on Melbourne's own Candyline Records.
