Blowfly Saint Creates Lo-Fi Electronic Folk Meditations That Detox Your Mind

Listen a track from the Trans-Tasman duo’s experimental new cassette.

If people could be sister cities Stefan Neville and Leighton Craig would make a good match. Both create wonderfully experimental and elemental pop music.

Neville, an Aucklander, has for many years been making music as Pumice and other names, and Craig has been involved in Brisbane bands Lost Domain and Primitive Motion. Together they create music as Blowfly Saint, a project that delves into lo-fi electronic folk and blues excursions.

Their new cassette Duck St/ulp, released on Epic Sweep records, was recorded over several years in the early 2000s in Auckland and Brisbane. It captures the two interplay with odd percussion, drone and synths.

Listen to the twelve-minute instrumental"Glue Glue Glue Moon", that is awash in melody, and closer Trans-Tasman relations.

'Duck St/ulp', is available now on Epic Sweep records.
