Over the last two years, Olive Garden has made waves by selling what are essentially golden tickets for infinity pasta. These Never Ending Pasta Passes allow those lucky enough to snag one the right to gorge from a bottomless trough of sauced-up noodles for a limited time. Two thousand passes were sold in just one minute last year, a testament to the rabid furor we have for Americanized Italian food.

But our love for Olive Garden has only gotten stronger—far, far stronger. This year, 21,000 OG Never Ending Pasta Passes were sold in less than a second.

"That's enough Pasta Pass holders to fill Madison Square Garden," an Olive Garden spokesperson told MUNCHIES by e-mail.

For $100, the Never Ending Pasta Pass gets pass-holders unlimited pasta (obviously), toppings, soup, salad, breadsticks and soda. Last year, customers bearing pasta passes used their passes on average 28 times during the seven-week period during which the passes were valid. The most popular order was for Fettuccine Alfredo, a plate of which sets you back a remarkable 1,010 calories.

From a pure caloric intake standpoint, never has energy been so easily obtainable in the history of the world—and to think that this year, grilled chicken counts as a Never Ending Pasta Pass topping.

If your Internet connection or clicker finger is a bit slow and you missed out on the pasta pass, you can still purchase one on eBay, where there are 21 up for auction with proceeds going to Feeding America. Bids are currently as high as $810 with two days to go until the auctions conclude. For that price, you could book a ticket to Rome, where you won't find Alfredo but you can experience how the Italians really do carbonara. However, before you book your trip, know that there's no such thing as a free refill in the old country.
