Shadows provide the foundation for an artist who coaxes out doodles from the shape-shifting quality of everyday items spotlighted by the sun. With a simple white background and an opaque black marker or sketch pencil, the Dutch artist Vince Bal draws out the potential from the natural phenomenon to create ingenious illustrations. His work reflects a unique form of objects mixed with the artist's enduring love for comic books. His growing collection of shadow illustrations has evolved into another offshoot of his creative interests. Bal has accumulated a collection of some of his most notable tableaus into a card collections.
