Three of Anthony Pettis’ Cars Were Set on Fire Outside His Home in Milwaukee

Just a day removed from the exciting announcement of Anthony "Showtime" Pettis' upcoming fight against Max Holloway at UFC 206 in Toronto, the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native was woken by the sight of his three prized vehicles set ablaze outside his family home in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Local news outlet Fox6Now reported the Milwaukee Police's belief that an accelerant was used to spread the fire quickly and how the suspect is unknown to Pettis, who was left shocked while "processing what had happened."

"I saw a car speeding through the neighborhood," said Carson Blaszak, Pettis' neighbor and a witness to the fire who filmed the aftermath on his mobile phone.

"Right around the same time as that happened, there was kind of a large bang," Blaszak said. "It was three cars caught on fire. I just, I ran outside, and I was hoping, you know, the house hopefully wasn't gonna catch on fire."

Luckily no one was injured in this incident; which could have had much graver consequences if the fire hadn't been contained by the local fire department as Pettis had pertained to in a statement he posted over Instagram.

Pettis' younger brother Sergio, a surging UFC flyweight himself, was similarly defiant. In an Instagram post of his own, the younger Pettis was pictured with a beaming smile in front of the burnt husk of what was once one of his older brother's cars. He said: "The cars might be broke but we will never be broken.

"Not sure why or who did this to us very confused on that matter. We truly love Milwaukee and everybody that comes from our city. We all came from the same roots the same daily struggles. It's an honor representing all of us, it's more than just fighting for us. We believe martial arts can change lives. We go out there and express ourselves in a different form of art hoping we that we can inspire. We might come from a violent sport but we are peaceful people. So let's end the violence in our city and come together. The more we rise each other up the more we can all succeed and grow."

The Milwaukee Police Department are still seeking suspects. As the investigation is ongoing, the Milwaukee PD are asking anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact them on 414-935-7360.
