Hillary Clinton is a big USWNT fan. Duh, who isn't? Well, actually, some crotchety old Republican.Yesterday, said crotchety republican—Senator Lamar Alexander—blocked what was essentially a symbolic measure to support equal pay for FIFA's female athletes. Hillary wasn't going to stand for it. So what did she do? Deploy a red card.Sure, it's cheesy and cliche, but it's also kind of funny, in the way that most politicians' jokes are granted a heartier laugh than they deserve. Take Obama calling girls who play soccer "badass," for instance: Ooh, look! He swore. So funny. So relatable. Ha.Politicians are coasting on a permanent yellow card for their dad jokes—never really off the hook, but not fully at fault for being forced to play this sterilized boring game in the first place. Regardless of how simple, it's always fun to see the lexicon of soccer work its way into U.S. politics.Whether you're a teacher, an executive, or a world-champion soccer player, you deserve equal pay. Red card, GOP. https://t.co/TWmzEETe7v
