Matt Barnes Suspended Two Games for Fighting Derek Fisher

Matt Barnes has been suspended two games for trying to fight Derek Fisher.

Back in October, we learned that Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes got into a physical altercation with Knicks head coach Derek Fisher at the home of Barnes' estranged wife, Gloria Govan. Barnes discovered that Fisher—who had been dating Govan while she and Barnes were going through a divorce—was at a party at Govan's house, and in a unilateral "Meet me in Temecula" move, he showed up at the house to confront him.

According to the New York Post, Barnes went to "beat the shit out of" his former teammate and friend. While Fisher sustained minor scratches in the fracas, he did not press charges. Barnes was reportedly aware of Govan and Fisher's relationship, and later said he was concerned with how his two sons felt about Fisher being at the house. On October 23rd, the NBA said it would be investigating the matter and today they announced that Barnes was suspended two games for his role in the altercation.
