Can Evan Turner Get Andre Iguodala to Take a Paycut in Portland? (No.)

A fan on Twitter asked Turner to recruit Iguodala to the Blazers with an enticing cut in salary. It was a very short conversation.

Andre Iguodala, fresh off his second NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in two years, is set to be a free agent. He is 33 years old and made just north of $11 million last season. According to reports, he is seriously considering leaving the team when his four-year deal ends this July. Iggy, despite creeping up there in years, has played well and is a Certified Winner, so according to The Vertical, there's talk around the league that he could be looking at a deal averaging $20 million a year. Or, if one dogged fan of the Portland Trail Blazers gets his wish, maybe a quarter of that.

Evan Turner and Iguodala played together in Philadelphia and did develop a friendship—Turner was on hand for his bachelor party—but, as the saying goes, friends don't let friends navigate free agency drunk.

Iguodala also responded to the hypothetical, and it's fair to say we can whittle his offseason destination down by one team, at least.

Surprisingly, Iguodala does not seem to be interested in leaving the team that included Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green and finished first in the Western Conference for the likes of Dame Lillard, (his good friend) Turner, and Meyers Leonard and the No. 8 seed he just swept en route to another NBA championship. Maybe if the decimal point moved one spot to the right.
