Is This Your Mum?

Because if it is, you might not want to look at these.

Don't take this the wrong way, but is your mother a blonde in her late 50s to 60s with a past (and perhaps a present) in amateur pornography?

The reason I ask is that I was the recent winner of an eBay auction titled "Trash or Treasure". For £1.20 (plus postage) I took a chance on a 30-year-old roll of undeveloped 35mm film, hoping that I would be as lucky as Morace Park. In 2009 Mr Park bought a battered old film tin on eBay for £3.20 because "it had a lovely look to it". He ended up with a never-before-seen Charlie Chaplin film that was later valued at £40,000.

All I needed was a stroke of luck – pictures of JFK in Marilyn's stockings, Roswell footage, Buster Keaton choking hookers – and I'd be set. Sadly, all I ended up with were pictures of some sexy woman. I wonder, is she your mum?

Do you recognise those shoes? Are they your mum's? Did you teeter innocently around the house in them when you were five years old and then wonder why your mum got so angry when she caught you?

Maybe the guy from Snappy Snaps recognised the shoes. He was super chatty when I took the roll in, but when I came back to pick up the photos he looked like a man whose world had just crashed in around him.

He didn't say a word. Was this why?

Was it because this is his mum?

The first thought that popped into our heads was that maybe the woman we bought them from, "Eileen", was an exhibitionist. Maybe she'd listed the roll of film for sale under the "Trash or Treasure" section, but had really just bought an old camera and posed for the photos herself.

But sadly, when I emailed Eileen, she said that she had “bought the film and other goods from someone who found them in a loft” and had no knowledge of their content. She even apologised for any offence and/or upset the photos may have caused us.

None taken. She's a little awkward and cracky-looking, but I can handle that.

And now, in an effort to discover the identity of this lady, we are turning to you, our readers, and asking: Is this your mum?
