Despite his satchel of tracks extolling the numerous virtues of cooking and distributing crack, I get the feeling that Atlanta's Future is a gigantic softie. A good third of the songs on his debut LP Pluto were straight-up love songs (admittedly, one was a love song about himself, but let's not quibble), and a bunch were about a sense of ineffable yearning that he inevitably turned into lyrics about the cosmos. As a R&B hook man, Future takes the Auto-Tune effect to avant-garde places that completely justify dudes like Akon and T-Pain showing up on literally every rap song for three years in a row. Now, the icy love robot that is Future has teamed up with Kelly Roland of Destiny's Child for a remix of "Turn On The Lights," and it's so sticky sweet that I would give it away as Halloween candy.
