Since its inception last summer, Dell & Intel’s Special Engagements series has been on three continents, in five cities, and shot out at thousands of music-hungry eyeballs and earholes through state of the art live-streams. It’s sort of like Noisey’s Stanley Cup, OzzFest, and Puppy Bowl rolled into one giant ball of live music insanity.Well check this out: the sixth edition of the series will be going down in Seattle with none other than the voice of B-More herself, the illustrious rapper Rye Rye!You already know Rye Rye from her collaborations with MIA, Robyn, Diplo, Blaqstarr… the list goes on, and it’s a pretty damn long one considering she’s only 21. She’s gearing up to release her debut album, the much-anticipated Go! Pop! Bang!, on MIA’s boutique label N.E.E.T. Records. The event is going down on February 27 at the Seattle Art Museum. You can get involved and help control the show—fans will have the chance to dance onstage with Rye Rye, design her onstage banner, and help decide her hair style for the event. We were hanging out with her the other day and asked her to do a little dancing for us—she and her friend rehearsed a few moves for like two minutes and then busted out with some of the most high-energy dance moves we’d seen since Pina. A half hour later, it came out casually that they had made up the moves on the spot. “That’s just how we do in Baltimore,” she told me. “These are just the sort of moves that we bring out to the club, it’s nothing special.” Keep in mind, if any of us tried to do that we’d end up with shin splints.Check the video below for the clip of Rye Rye dancing, and for more information on how you can get onstage in Seattle.
