Premiere: Harrison Gives VOTIIV's "Stay Away" the Happy Treatment

Revel in the plush sounds of Harrison's happy version of VOTIIV's hard-sounding "Stay Away".

Have you ever had a gummy bear that was just sweet enough to eat, even though it was a little hardened? That's exactly what Harrison's remix for VOTIIV's "Stay Away" sounds like. The 19-year old Toronto beat-maker is known for his warbly synth and upbeat funk driven aesthetics, and he uses his talents to warp fellow Toronto-based electric duo VOTIIV's cold industrial sounding "Stay Away" into a big sonic hug filled with a collection of "kawaii" warping synths and soft hi-hats interspersed with playful sample cuts of VOTIIV vocalist, Kat Duma. Harrison explains, "I'm really bad at making dark sounding music. That's why I made it as happy as I could hahah weird contrast right?"

However, this is only a taste of Harrison's colourful mantra with his upcoming EP Colors due early 2015 via Last Gang Records/Jet Jam (Europe and Asia), and a full length coming later in the year via Last Gang Records.

Those in Toronto can see Harrison Thursday, December 18th at the Studio Bar for GROUNDWORK presents series.

Fans in Montreal can bring in the New Year with Harrison for OMISOKA NYE 2015.
