PREMIERE: Nancy Pants Has a Crush on You, and Everybody Knows It

Celebrate unrequited love with the Montreal lo-fi trio's new video.

You know that thing when you have a crush on someone, but you can't tell them how you feel, but you've told pretty much all your friends, and also your crush's friends, and you're pretty sure your crush knows that you're crushin', but time keeps passing and nothing happens?

Montreal buzz darlings Nancy Pants are here to help you find some resolution with the aptly-titled, "I've Got a Crush on You and Everybody Knows It."

"But it doesn't matter anyways / Because if you knew / Then I think I would know that too!" muses singer-guitarist Ohara Hale over a scuzzed-out garage pop jam.

"It's basically a song about unrequited love, but in the end it's okay!" Hale says. "It's fine! It's fun to have a crush, it's good for your heart muscles…sometimes, ha. And if you are lucky, sometimes your crushes become really good sweet friends and that is worth so much more I think."

The tune offers a taste of the lo-fi trio's forthcoming second album, which promises more of the punk ferocity of the band's much-hyped live shows.
