You get over the initial resentment at Virals daring to chuck summer in your shivery, snotty face on this fog-ridden morning pretty fast as it's straight up (really) good, old grungy, guitar strewn indie-pop. Not progressive, but you can't fault it for taking you on a very welcome trip through hazy after work hours, spent lounging on any square inch of empty greenery round Hackney necking shit wine and overly fragrant cider. All of these recollections start to glow with a fresh rose-tinted haze with "Summer Girls" as a soundtrack. The grim hangovers, frequent interruptions by mental locals and dog shit everywhere just disappear. You never thought those couple weeks of warmth would be the highlight of your year did you?
