Despite hailing from the yawning seaside town of Southend-on-Sea, Velvet Morning’s heavy-lidded musical offerings wouldn't have sounded out of place in Andy Warhol's Factory. “Blue Jean Baby” from their debut EP Velvet Moon, unfolds like languid lava, enveloping psych influences like Jesus & Mary Chain before slinking off on its own honeyed tangent. They are currently recording a full-length release, building on the velveteen sound of their debut EP and regularly perform in London if you feel like catching an aural duvet day.
