Ruff Sqwad: "White Label Classics"

Grime royalty Ruff Sqwad release tracks on the actual internet, so you don't need to leave the house.

Grime luminaries Ruff Sqwad are single-handedly reinvigorating my excitement about the grime scene, which has become a sort of ode to times gone by. Y'know, like how Limehouse Estate has been rebranded as some kind of Mecca for TV crews and posh boys from Cambridge who come to see "where it all began". Rapid and co. offer up 22 tracks apparently whittled from over 50 instrumentals, and are actually available on the internet, rather than taping tracks from pirate radio. Which is really good for the geriatric fans like me, who peaked early and now are too podgy and cynical to actually leave the house to pick up a limited white label pressing from an independent shop.

You can stream the tracks below and get them from No Hats No Hood records (where else?!) as you sit back and enjoy the memories of getting dry humped to 140 bpm tempos and getting excited about Dizzee winning a Mercury.
