Toro Y Moi Made A Sick Mixtape, Perfect For Zoning Out On A Monday Afternoon

It’s been a pretty lazy day around the Vice offices, and we can’t stop listening to this excellent mixtape curated by Chaz Bundick of Toro Y Moi. He put it together for Modular People this Friday, but it’s really fitting our rejuvenated, reflective mood perfectly now that the weekend’s over. The tape features a broad swath of genres from different times. It spotlights the space-age lounge of Chorafas, a lost German act from the 70s, and the classic film soundtracks of Ennio Morricone. That same type of eclecticism is on display in Bundick’s most recent long-player, Underneath The Pine. The mix features: A First Class Dub - King Tubby Come Live With Me - Dorothy Ashby Part Version 8 - Piero Piccioni Pealed Tomato - Chorafas It's Choade My Dear - Connan Mockasin Mariangela e la Seduzione - Ennio Morricone Show Me To The Window- Robert Lester Folsom Chi Mi Cerchera - Enrico Simonetti with Goblin Was It All In Vain - Bixio Frizzi Tempura Rainbow Ride - Kathy McCord O Sabia - Les Wanted Clay Horses - Julian Lynch In addition to making sick mixtapes, Toro Y Moi puts on one of the best live shows we've seen in a while. Check our exclusive footage of them rocking out to "New Beat" at the Drunken Unicorn this March.
