Would You Trust a Guy Who Named His Band The Microphones to Name Yours?

Mount Eerie's Phil Elverum has started a band naming service that comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.

Mount Eerie's Phil Elverum has announced on Twitter, via a haiku no less, that for $US35 he will name your band.

I will name your band. My fee is thirty five bucks. I am serious.

The Washingtonian singer-songwriter who also fronted 90s lo-fi pop band The Microphones, has set up a website for the service that costs the same price as a 180-degree outdoor motion-sensing security light.

All payments must be paid up front and there are no refunds. The conditions state that contextual information about the band being named can be sent but Elverum says, "I will not necessarily go super deep into researching you and what your deal is. I might though."

Be rest assured Elverum’s decision will be considered with the promise not to name every band "the Hotdog Brothers."

@PWElverum When I'm naming bands I promise they won't all be "The Hotdog Brothers".

If the band naming doesn’t work out Elverum could always consider music video directing and consultancy work. Check "Sauna", a brilliant/absurdist three-part video for the Mount Eerie song that he co-directed with Allyson Foster.
