Eastlink’s New Video For “Overtime” Is An Emergency Call to Help Snake

Eastlink's 'Overtime' video features mariachi and international rescue.

Like a punk rock take on the Thunderbirds, the video for Eastlink’s  “Overtime” involves international crisis management, messages in bottles, and wooden acting.

Directed by Eastlink’s Johann Rashid it starts with some mariachi and found footage of Asian bikers then develops a narrative after Snake has his bicycle stolen. He enlists the help of the band but they have problems of their own. Joey’s lost in a hotel, Zeph is surfing shitty waves, Ben seems high and driving a stationary car and Lee is stuck inside a VICE documentary that looks set in a Filipino jungle.

Taken from their upcoming album Mullum Mullum on In the Red  “Overtime” has the Melbourne five-piece - who includes members of Total Control, Repairs and Lakes - turning up their herky-jerky punk. Eastlink come to the rescue with just four guitars, a drum kit and some volume.

Mullum Mullum is released May 13 on In the Red
