Sad news this morning: pro skier Matilda Rapaport died in an avalanche in Chile during a shoot for a Ubisoft video game called Steep.

In weird sports news, the plane chartered by Scottish soccer club Aberdeen hit a bird and was damaged. Aberdeen will probably miss its Europa League match against Riga as a result.

Another Scottish team, Rangers, has a bunch of pissed off fans. Apple's robot voice thing Siri apparently thinks Rangers was founded just four years ago, when it was restructured after going into bankruptcy protection. The original club was founded in 1872.

The Guardian has a pretty interesting story about former Liverpool defender Daniel Agger. There is a lot in it, including some candid talk of Agger's anti-inflammatory drug abuse during his playing days.

Liverpool is preparing to take on Huddersfield Town in a pre-season friendly. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Huddersfield boss David Wagner, whom I profiled last year, are best friends. There's a fun little interview on Liverpool's website where Klopp talks about his friend.

Stage 17 of the Tour de France is in the Swiss Alps. Chris Fromme is still in the lead … but for how long?
