Symbol-heavy futuristic designer Cassette Playa’s Fall/Winter 2010-11 collection featured augmented reality T-shirts with symbols that, when viewed via a webcam, triggered different animations and projections, adding headgear, masks, and virtual mirages on and around the models. Watching a T-shirt come alive is still a pretty nifty novelty, and a bit cumbersome with a web-based interface, but we appreciate the fact that Cassette Playa continually tries to blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality in her designs, and are excited that tech-savvy duds are finally available in her online store. The screen-printed shirts come in three different versions: knowledge, emotion, and violence, letting you choose the mood you want to channel, and come with downloadable software (sorry, Macs only!) to create your own augmented reality with your webcam at home.KnowledgeEmotionViolence
