RAMALLAH - BIL'IN GUNSHOT

This video was taken during last Friday's protest at the West Bank Wall in the Palestinian village of Bil'in. You may remember Bil'in from last year's Against the Wall series on VBS—the construction of the Wall in 2003 separated the village from over half of its farmland, which has led to a weekly pitched battle between residents and the Israeli Army. At the one we filmed in June 07, Israeli soldiers launched tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd and one of our producers got shot in the stomach with a rubber bullet. Since we were there things have gotten way worse and the Israeli Army have begun using live ammunition. Sorry if the clip is a little harsh for a Tuesday morning, but that's the way it is. The person hit in the leg is Ibrahim Bornat, the brother of Emad, our Palestinian cameraman for the series. He's alive following extensive surgery, but has lost a large amount of blood and despite undergoing numerous transfusions is still in need of more. We know this is a longshot, but if anyone reading this is of blood type AB+ and willing to donate blood for Ibrahim in Ramallah, please contact Sarah at 05 23 99 18 97.
