Superorganism are a band of admirably diverse tastes:. Recently they performed a great version of Pavement's "Cut Your Hair," and now their pendulum has swung to another end of the musical spectrum, with a Spotify Singles cover of Camila Cabello's "Havana."

Indeed, just when you thought you had finally managed to get the omnipresent "Havana" out of your head, here it is, back in a different form, like a mildly malevolent but also quite fun ear infection. Superorganism's version, of course, is very good: it puts Orono Noguchi's soft voice to pretty effect, alongside the band's rowdier, and now trademark, take on backing vocals. Musically it's a pretty faithful cover, though the instrumentation is less slinky and more deliberate than on the original, which also feels like a Superorganism hallmark. It's impressive for a new band to have so many qualities which feel distinctively theirs, but by taking this behemoth of a song and making small tweaks, Superorganism show their considerable chops as a musical force. Hear it below and good luck trying to get it out of your head:
