The director of the music video for Taylor Swift's new single, "Look What You Made Me Do", has denied imitating the visuals from Beyoncé's "Formation'"

After Swift dropped a teaser to the video of her new single on Thursday, Beyoncé fans were quick to point out similarities between visuals in Taylor's video and Beyonce's 2016 vid "Formation."

But director Joseph Kahn has taken to Twitter to downplay the similarities.

"I've worked with Beyoncé a few times. She's an amazing person. The #LWYMMDvideo is not in her art space. Love and respect to Bey," Kahn tweeted. "Also there's something to that 'formation' shot I painted out and you haven't seen yet. Stay tuned Sunday."

The split-second shot that has caught the eye and ire of Bey fans features Swift dressed in black standing with her hands on her hips in front of a line of male backup dancers, looks similar to a shot from Beyoncé's "Formation" video.

Swift, 27, is set to premiere the video during the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
