Clown Elected To Brazilian Congress

See that grinning chump up there? He's a politician now.

Known as Tiririca, or "Grumpy", this TV comedian won a seat in congress by seemingly satirising the political system, (his rallying slogan was: "It can't get worse"). Another inspirational classic was "What does a federal deputy do? Truly, I don't know. But vote for me and I will find out for you."

As far as sloganeering goes, it's a bit like that Simpsons where Kodos and Kang take over the bodies of Bob Dole and Bill Clinton and one of them announces: "It makes no difference which one of us you vote for, either way your planet is doomed! DOOMED!!!" and Kent Brockman concludes: "Well, a refreshing bit of candor from Senator Bob Dole."

Whatever you clown, you're not nearly as funny as this. What would Braveheart have been like if it had been filmed by, with, and for a regional branch of Pitcher and Piano?
