It Looks Like Bernie Sanders Is Finally Ready to Endorse Hillary Clinton

The Vermont senator will join the Democratic heir apparent at a campaign event in New Hampshire Tuesday.

Former Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have been surprisingly buddy-buddy lately. After coming together to work on new healthcare initiatives and Clinton's college-education reform plan, it looks like Sanders is ready to give the presumptive nominee his nod of approval.

On Tuesday, Sanders will join Clinton at a campaign event in New Hampshire, where Bernie is expected to finally endorse his former rival after months of stubbornly refusing to concede—even though Clinton won more than enough delegates in the primaries to earn the party's presidential nomination.

"I think it's fair to say that the Clinton campaign and I, our campaign, are coming closer and closer together," Sanders said on Saturday, during the platform planning session for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

Sanders has been unusually brimming with praise for Clinton's initiatives, including the additions to her affordable education plan, which promises free in-state tuition at public universities for students of families that make less than $125,000 a year. She also incorporated Sanders's ideas for healthcare reform, promising better funded community health centers, as well as a "public-option" health insurance plan.

"Today's proposal by Hillary Clinton is an important step toward expanding health insurance and health care access to millions of Americans," the Sanders campaign tweeted.

Sanders's endorsement could bring Clinton more support from the legions of Bernie fans who are still unsure of her commitment to progressive ideals, and help unite the Democratic Party as it heads to Philadelphia for the convention at the end of the month.
