Listen to Detroit Icon Andrés In the Mix on New UK Radio Station Balamii

The legendary Andrés made an appearance on Peckham's finest station Balamii — check it out in full exclusively on THUMP.

Now beaming out live round the entire world on weeknights between 7-9PM and from 12-8PM on Saturdays, Peckham's finest radio station Balamii is now fully up and running. We've covered the Rye Lane based collective a few times already on THUMP, and we've even been lucky enough to head down and play a few tunes for ourselves. The switch from being a primarily archive based service — the app and website still do just that, as a heads up — to going out live puts it in line with other London big boys like NTS, Radar, and Rinse.

Since going live, a few top, top guests have wandered down the Holdron's arcade and slammed through some top top sets. The guys from Too Hot threw down some hardcore and garage, Wbeeza came in with a rum and ginger special, and last Friday a house icon ambled into the arcade for something seriously special.

You'll remember Andrés from eternal classics like "New For U", "Jazz Dance", "Moments in Life", "You're Still the One", and a ton more. The Detroit native was playing the Bussey Building later that evening and decided to bless the Balamii boys with a super special two hours of gutbucket soul, spangly disco, gritty proto-house, "Everybody Dance", blissed out boogie, extra-exciting edits, "Lies" by GQ, percussive workouts, Fleetwood Mac and a lot, lot more.

Honestly — this is as good as radio gets. Check it out for yourself below.

Balamii is now live weeknights 7-9pm and broadcasts from 12-8 on Saturdays. Tune in here.
