The Editors' New Groove Vol. XVIIII

This new music rules, so fuck it and whatever.

The Editors' New Groove is a weekly pow-wow on the freshest new releases from THUMP's editors and regular contributors' radars.

Stefan Jós - "03"
This new Opal Tapes cassette jam feels like wearing a full-body condom made out of fuzzy sock polyester. When I die, bury me in a full-body condom made of polyester. No wait, just incinerate me. Whatever. \m/ (Elissa Stolman)

Sina. - "All Alone (Fybe:one Remix)"

It's very hard to make a track that makes you all shivery from emotion and has harps and 'n stuff like that … and then at the same time want to bounce your whip cause a tune bumps. That, my friends, is the power of Future Garage crossed with the magic of Fybe:One. I hope the moon sounds like this when we all live there. (Matt Earp)

Andre Bratten - "Trommer Og Bass"

Holy mother of god. This self-assured stunner from Norway's Andre Bratten is the best thing you'll hear all weekend, I promise. It's disco without any of the cheese, disco that's been stripped dry, disco for people who like their coffee black. (Michelle Lhooq)

Galcher Lustwerk - Nu Day EP

Galcher not showing any signs of being on some fuck shit anytime soon. A lot of great, timeless records are incredibly simple. It's hard to keep something very simple and still interesting, I think that is one of the most telling signs of a really good producer and something Galcher nails. (Joel Fowler)

Jayko - "Powah (Equator Club Remix)"
"Put a DONK on it," I yelled, slamming my fist on the table. "Yes," Jayko replied, sliding out a drawer a few inches away from his right knee and pressing a grapefruit-sized red button labeled "DONK"—and in smaller letters—"for emergency use only." (Max Pearl)

Eric Prydz - "Liberate"
Some people (like Elissa) might refer to me as a "cheese ball" for choosing this one but guess what? Dont currrrr. Eric Prydz is the king of the euphoric melody and i'll be sailing this one straight into the sunset. (David Garber)

Moltar - "Oval Encounters"

My newest DJ crush is Powell; I've been suffering from noise music-induced priapism (figuratively?) since I saw him and his amazing cheekbones DJ last weekend. Now I'm now a noise tip, and this Moltar record is a literal aphrodisiac. (Elissa Stolman)

Darkhouse Family - "Arphouse Feat. Arp101"
Chunky synths, chunky beats, chunky dudes saying "yoyoyoyo" in a chunky way. Darnkhouse Fam were already kinda dark and fun like being in a good haunted house - when you throw Arp101 in the mix things get crazier still - like thugs in your basement trying to have a party while they jack your soundsystem. (Matt Earp)

The Northern Lights - "This Time Around"
Traveller records in between their club releases have been reissuing old gems that are impossible to find. This came on in my feed this week and I can't wait to snag it. (Joel Fowler)

My Nu Leng feat Fox - "Masterplan"

Wanna see the face I made when the bass dropped on this? (Max Pearl)

Mediccine - "Lucid"
Everyone so often I come across a tech house bass line that I literally cannot get out of my noggin. I find myself replicating it in the shower, while eating chili, while listening to actual other songs and ultimately when i'm trying get myself to sleep at the end of night. Some people can't sleep due to stress over the melting polar ice caps or their possibly sad life, while I lie awake humming techy basslines. I guess i'm normal? (David Garber)

Spencer Brown - Ascension
This Dallas-based DJ has been opening for Avicii, and is rumored to have been taken under the wing of his all-powerful manager, Ash. And I can see why: production-wise, this is spotless. (Michelle Lhooq)
