In the US, festival season brings to mind huge bangers. However, to many Europeans, the warmer months are spent at open air parties where the musical fare consists of lazy, sexy tech-house beats like this one from Berlin outpost Exploited. "Warriors" is a joint effort by Joyce Muniz, a Viennese producer who's worked with Bam from the Jungle Brothers, and Kiki, an alumnus of Ellen Allien's seminal label BPitch Control and a former architect from Finland. These days, she spends more time constructing gritty zaps and watery chords to lay over a chunky stomp, as is the case on "Warriors," which drops August 4 on Beatport. It'll hit all other major retailers two weeks later.
